[Brooklyn, New York]: 1900 - 1903. Small octavos, approximately 35 pages. Several on her 212 Henry Street Brooklyn letterhead, 3 have the date received neatly penned in the blank upper left corner. Early horizontal folds, very good.

Alice Morse Earle (1853-1911), was an American author who wrote chiefly about American Colonial customs fashion and history. Her books include: THE SABBATH IN PURITAN NEW ENGLAND; CUSTOMS AND FASHIONS IN OLD NEW ENGLAND; STAGE COACH AND TAVERN DAYS, and TWO CENTURIES OF COSTUME IN AMERICA (2 volumes.) In these letters she details current and future literary efforts, requests and sends thanks for photographs and articles to use in her books. All are near fine or better. Item #7440
