ELIST 69 Marking my 50th year in bookselling, I am pleased to offer Elist 69, ARTIST'S BOOKS, the first of several short topical lists. Among the offerings is John Baldessari’s, BRUTUS KILLED CAESAR; SWIMMING, illustrated with 9 mounted color photographs by Tina Barney; two works published by the Nexus Press, Carol Barton's, INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY: THREE HOW-TO PROJECTS THAT WILL IMPROVE YOUR LIFE; and, Bill Burke's, I WANT TO TAKE PICTURE; three shaped folding works by Lori Christmastree, produced at the Visual Studies Workshop; Roy Fisher's elegant Circle Press, BLUEBEARD'S CASTLE, one of fifteen artist's proofs; several works from the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts; an archive of letters, post cards, prospectuses, photographs, etc. by Ed Hutchins; Barbara Kruger's first book, PICTURE/READINGS; VISHNU CREW STEWS VINDALOO, from the Purgatory Pie Press, a sculptural work contrasting India's industrialization and traditions.
