Queen Alexandra, was the eldest daughter and second eldest child of Prince Christien of the Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderbury-Glucksburg; she married Edward, Prince of Wales in 1863. By the time the Danish Princess of Wales became Queen, she had been a recognized royal amateur photographer for fifteen years.
