Isaac Webster first fought in the Revolutionary War under Col. Seth Warner (twice) and Col. Herman Swift. He was at the Battle of Bennington and present at Burgoyne's surrender at Saratoga. In 1779, his regiment was ordered to Fort George, and near there, he was captured by a band of Indians. First published in an early Vermont periodical entitled " The Mental Repast or Rays of Light from The Sun of Science, Reflected from the Northern Section of The American Union by a Number of Friends of Learning." Issued here as Heartman's Historical Series No.43, and limited to 60 numbered copies, this No. 57. Ayer Collection Supplement No. 134.
