Washington, D.C. Corcoran Gallery of Art, 2000. Dutton, Allen. First ed. 4to., 61 pp., 48 b&w photographs. Illustrated stiff wrappers. Fine. Item #30829
Prepared in conjunction with an exhibition of Dutton's photographs. Essay by Jane Livingston and introduction by Paul Roth. Using both his own photographs and from those in archives circa 1900, Dutton creates a rephotographic project of Arizona public spaces, private homes and landscape - a "then and now" document, with his own unique vision, remembering him as the creator of THE GREAT STONE TIT and other iconoclastic works.
