NY: E. & H.T. Anthony & Co., 1870-1901. First edition. 8vos. Each monthly issue approximately 30 pp., illustrations in text, and photographic frontispiece with tissue guard starting in the 1880s. As follows: Vol. 1, No. 7, 1870, partially disbound with chipped wrappers, in cloth case; Vols. 2-3, 1871-1872, complete, bound in cloth; Vols. 4,5, 7, 1873-1874, 1876, complete, original wrapper in cloth case; Vol. 16, No. 1, 1885, lacking front wrapper, in cloth case; Vol. 17-18, 1886-1887, complete in original wrappers, in cloth case; Vols. 19-28, 1888-1897, complete, bound in cloth; Vols. 29-30, complete, bound in half calf; Vols. 31-32, complete in original wrappers, in cloth case. A near complete, but broken run. Compiled from a variety of sources, a few volumes are ex-library, some show modest dampstaining, and some individual issues are lacking the front wrapper, or with tears and chips. From 1885 - 1893 the frequency of publication shifted from 12 monthly issues to 24 issues yearly. Item #29569

Largely concerned with the technical aspects of the medium, reviewing processes and products, manuals for both the amateur and the professional photographer, understandably since Anthony had been a distributor of photographic materials and publications since the 1840s.

First published in 1870 under this title and ceased in 1901. Previously published as "Anthony's Bulletin of Photographic Invention and Improvements." Merged in 1902 with "The Photographic Times" to be published under the new title: "Photographic Times Bulletin" which was then absorbed by "American Photography" in 1916.
