Owners' signatures are those of the Porcher family, dated 1887 and 1901. This book gives a comprehensive genealogy of the prominent families of South Carolina, starting from 1689 when the first 180 families of French Huguenot descent first arrived in Carolina, and settled on the Santee, in St. James Parish. The Porcher family is among these prominent families, and are interelated with the Wickham, Peyres and DuBose families. Largely a history of Craven and Berkeley Counties, South Carolina.
