Typed Letter SIGNED on the letterhead of the International Rescue Committee:
New York: November 16, 1955. Single page, 8 1/2 x 11, 5 paragraphs, addressed to Mr. Hubbell, SIGNED in ink. Admiral Byrd states that he is about to embark on a new U.S. Navy expedition to the Antarctic - he then appeals for funds for the IRC of which he is the honorary chairman. He states that these funds help those living in "Red-dominated nations to escape to freedom." Folded twice, with the envelope of conveyance, a 4 pp. illustrated brochure of the IRC speaking of a "Free Vietnam" among other places, and a pre-addressed envelope for return of donation.
