Baldus (1813-1889), was an early French photographer renowned for his technical ability, his architectural views of Paris and the South of France, landscapes, and an exception album of the railroad route from Paris to the Mediterranean. Malcom Daniel chronicles his life and photographic work for this catalogue for a major traveling exhibition which originated at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
