The International World Exposition of 1900, held in Paris, was attended by nearly 50 million visitors. The exhibitions showcased the latest achievements in the sciences, arts and manufacturing; among them were two important applications of the photographic process, Métrophotographie (photogrammetry) and Chronophotographie, each a form of measurement documented with the aide of the camera and film.

Beginning in 1849, Colonel Amié Laussedat devised a photographic method and instruments for use in projective geometry as applied to topographic and architectural measurements. Etienne-Jules Marey is considered the inventor of chronophotography, the study of human and animal movement sequentially recorded on film, the precursor of the cinema.
In this publication, both Laussedat and Marey outline the history and shows examples of the instruments and applications of their processes. Scarce with OCLC locating only 7 copies.
