The game or Snip, Snap, Snorum has its roots in the late 18th century and was popular throughout the 19th century. It is basically a stops game in which cards are played in ascending sequence in suit. This version has five suits, each containing four cards. Of these, two suits depict stereotyped images of blacks with ridiculous names that verge on racist.
