James W. Queen (1815-1890, Philadelphia) was an optician and successful businessman. He became associated with S.L. Fox in 1860, and the firm became James W. Queen & Co. Queen retired in 1870; the business was continued as James W. Queen & Co. until 1893, when it was became Queen & Co., Inc. In 1912, it was reorganized as the Queen-Gray Company by a Mr. John G. Gray, and continued as such until 1925.
