This is Volume XII, edited by S. D. Humphrey, and covering the bi-weekly issues from May, 1860 through April, 1861. Previously published as THE DAGUERREIAN JOURNAL, the title changed after Vol. III, No. 3, Dec. 1851, to HUMPHREY'S JOURNAL DEVOTED TO THE DAGUERREIAN AND PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS; resuming the volume numbers, it changed the title again in 1853, to " HUMPHREY'S JOURNAL DEVOTED TO THE DAGUERREIAN AND PHOTOGENIC ARTS. In 1863, the title again changed to HUMPHREY'S JOURNAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE ALLIED ARTS AND SCIENCES. It absorbs THE AMERICAN JOURNAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY in 1867, and ceases publication in 1870.
