German photographer Friedrich Seidenstücker (1883-1966) at first studied engineering and then sculpture; he turned fully to photography by 1930. He made photos of street scenes, the everyday work world, the zoo, and was considered the chronicler of Berlin life; he was especially interested in photographing the devastation of Berlin after 1945.
