Eder discusses, in his chapter "Film Photography and the Rapid Growth of Amateur Photography," (HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY) the advantages of using light sensitive paper over glass plates and lists the various inventors who advanced the processes. He writes "G. Balagny, at Paris, combined alternate flexible layers of collodion, varnish and gelatin." This appears to be the first publication by Balagny on the subject.
