Léon Vidal (1834-1906) was head of the Association of Musée des Photographies Documentaires, which he founded, and a professor of photography at the École des Arts Decoratifs. An early and important text that furthered the attainment of a true three color photography through spectrology and orthocromatics, the process by which photographs of colors are represented by their degree of intensity.
