In 1861, the E. Anthony Company, one of the largest distributors and manufacturers of photographical material, moved to a grand building at 501 Broadway. Anthony already was the largest distributor to all of Latin America, and in 1862, he published his first Spanish language catalog. The chromolithographic plate included in the above described TRES CIUDADES... is of Anthony's store and galleries; chapter VIII deals exclusively with his establishment, complete with testimonials. This traveler's guide is geared to the Cuban and Latin American traveler to the three "grand" cities, New York, Philadelphia and Boston.
